CLIFF WAGNER & THE OLD #7 -- TAKE ME BACK TO THE DELTA -- No label, No Number. Here is an offering of West Coast bluegrass blending originals with favorites like "East Virginia," "It Takes One To Know One," and a dynamic interpretation of the Don Reno instrumental, "Banjo Special." Headed by Cliff Wagner (fiddle, banjo, and vocals), the Old #7 soars through 11 numbers including several original compositions, the most notable being "Take Me Back To The Delta," about Wagner's home town of Greenwood, Miss. For straight-ahead bluegrass with a tinge of ingenuity, the music of Cliff Wagner & the Old #7 proves to be hightly entertaining. |
